When it comes to buying a vehicle, consumers often concentrate on the lease payment or monthly loan to determine if it fits their budget. However, for commercial customers, the situation is more complex.
Ford, like many other automakers in North America, is expanding its electric vehicle (EV) business. Earlier in 2024, the E-Transit van received a significant upgrade. The battery capacity was increased from 67 to 89 kilowatt-hours, and AC and DC charging speeds were improved. Despite these enhancements, the vehicle only experienced a price hike of $1,100 – a relatively small amount considering the bolstered battery capacity.
How Much is the New Ford Transit Electric?
Ford’s commercial and fleet division announced price adjustments for the 2025 model year on the E-Transit to align with the pricing of its gasoline-powered counterparts.
By matching the prices of gas and electric models for these popular configurations, Ford Pro aims to simplify the decision-making process for commercial customers, allowing them to choose a powertrain based solely on the specific needs of their business.Ā
Aside from the adjusted pricing, Ford Pro is committed to simplifying the transition to EVs for commercial customers. Pro customers will now receive a $2,000 credit toward charging infrastructure. This initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of EVs in commercial fleets by reducing barriers and providing additional support.
The Need to Customize E-Transit Vans
To further streamline the process for commercial customers purchasing Transit vans, Ford Pro is focused on simplifying the upfitting process. Many businesses customize their vans with interior hardware for specific job requirements, such as tool and parts storage. To address this, Ford Pro has a Qualified Vehicle Modifiers program that certifies companies to provide numerous upfit options for all Ford commercial vehicles.
To make the process even more convenient, these upfit packages can be financed alongside the vehicle purchase, saving time and simplifying the overall transaction. With a comprehensive three-year, 36,000-mile warranty and nationwide service at over 2,800 Ford dealerships, business owners can have peace of mind regarding their investment.
In 2025, the manufacturer will partner with Ranger Design to present four factory-installed trade packages catering to specific industries: delivery services, HVAC specialists, general contractors, and electricians. These packages come equipped with specialized work desks, drawers, and shelves to meet the unique needs of each industry. Options include:Ā
