Ford Experiments with a New Look for the 2024 Bronco Raptor

In standard configuration, the Ford Bronco is thoroughly capable off-road, but for drivers who require even greater capability, there is the Bronco Raptor. The Bronco Raptor continues the theme begun by the F-150 Raptor pickup truck, incorporating myriad design and hardware updates that prepare it to venture farther off the pavement. Few trails prove too much for the Ford Bronco to handle, but for extreme terrain, the Bronco Raptor is the solution. In Raptor guise, the Bronco changes from capable to relentless. 

Indeed, the Bronco Raptor hulks over the standard Bronco, gaining gargantuan 37-inch tires and long-travel suspension that significantly increase its width and height. That is not just for show. It allows optimized angles, so the Bronco Raptor can drive over and through almost anything in its path. 

A disconnecting sway bar, locking differentials, several software aids, and thick skid plates help its driver keep moving forward. Interestingly, instead of a V-8, the Bronco Raptor makes do with a V-6. It is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine, delivering 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Soft Side

That said, despite its monster truck style, the Bronco Raptor does have a softer side. As it was introduced for 2023, the SUV should be mostly carryover for the 2024 model year, likely providing new trim details or paint colors at the most. Speaking of aesthetic modifications, spy shots garnered by photographers at motor1.com suggest that the vehicle is undergoing an exterior makeover. Based on the description given by the editors of the website, it does not seem far-fetched that members of the Blue Oval spent time scrutinizing online forums to determine what enthusiasts desire. 

A 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor was recently spotted wearing not only a new paint color but also some revised graphics as well. The design appears to be experimental, as it is ostentatious, to say the least. To begin with, the most obvious change is the Shelter Green Metallic paint that envelops the flanks of the vehicle, which is currently an exclusive hue only available on the brand new 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor. 

As a reminder, the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is more or less a smaller version of the velocity-defying Ford F-150 Raptor. As such; it is an off-road-ready machine characterized by 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 off-road tires encased in 17-inch wheels with optional Beadlock rims, a well-known grille, extra ground clearance, and flared fenders. Perhaps Ford is developing a color palette specific to the Raptor sub-brand.

New Appearance Package Possibility

Also notable is that the 2024 Bronco Raptor is outfitted with what appear to be Code-Orange painted bead lock rings and front tow hooks. The aforementioned photographers caught sight of further details: “Of particular interest are the beefy Bronco Raptor fender flares. They aren’t textured, unfinished plastic but painted to match the body. This is one of those opinions we mentioned earlier, as there are folks who absolutely adore the unfinished look and others who want body-colored arches.”

Code Orange unquestionably plays a significant role on the graphics present on the 2024 Ford Bronco Raptor, even though the design itself is a bit different than what is currently available. At the moment, for example, the optional graphics for this automobile are finished in a blend of gray, black, and silver, and they do not extend up to the side glass on the rear portion of the top, which is the case here. It is possible that these Code Orange accents are part of a new appearance option, although there is no concrete information for the time being.
