Ford Opens Order Banks for the 2023 Explorer this August!

Ford enthusiasts, the wait is finally coming to an end as we approach the third quarter of the year (2022), bringing long-awaited news for many vehicles and their progress. Coming sooner than expected, order banks for the 2023 Ford Explorer are currently scheduled to open back up this August 11th, 2022! Production is projected to begin for the fall on November 7th, 2022 (the final quarter of the year) at the Chicago Assembly plant. A possible refresh, following the teaser of the refresh for the Chinese Explorer, may even be in the future for the American counterpart with similar changes done!
Updates for the Chinese Explorer
Some exterior changes have been made to the Chinese version of the Explorer which includes some impressive ones to the front. Ford has taken the time to heavily revise the grille and headlights, fog lights, and taillights. They have also added a full-width chrome strip on the rear tailgate and a new rear bumper. When it comes to updates, however, they are truly showcased within the interior of the cabin of the Explorer.
A cleaner and more modern appearance takes over the refreshed Chinese Explorer and it has also received a significantly comprehensive overhaul that features a massive landscape-oriented infotainment screen that is similar to other Chinese Blue Oval products like the Ford Evos. The interior looks like something out of a spaceship and adds more finesse to the vehicle which makes it even more unique than most vehicles on the market. The infotainment screen update alone is enough to get anyone excited, and once more information about its functions and connectivity are released, it’s sure to bring excitement to everyone, whether they’re huge Ford enthusiasts or not.
The North American Explorer’s Future
It’s a commonality that the Chinese Blue Oval models get unique and refreshed features in comparison to their North American counterparts, and so it is uncertain exactly what features will be carried over to the United States version from this Chinese Refresh on the 2023 Explorer. The current generation of the Chinese Ford Explorer is relatively similar to its North American counterpart aside from the few styling details mentioned previously. A few other features in addition to those mentioned previously are the availability of a black-painted roof option and the larger infotainment screen, so there is a genuine possibility that the American version will see some of these unique updates.
