Video Game Designed Digital Display Unveiled for the Ford Raptor!

Earlier this year, Ford debuted its new SUV, the 2022 Bronco Raptor, and the biggest news at the time was how much bigger it is in width and height than its siblings within the Bronco lineup. It carries more horsepower, special thanks to a 400-HP twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 underneath its hood. So much was being said about the exterior specs (with reason) of the Bronco Raptor, that not much focus was on the interior details such as the digital display. 

Ford has since released more information with an informative deep dive of the Bronco Raptor’s 12-inch digital instrument display. For the development of this display, Ford has invited video game designers to help create specialty screens for each of what’s called “ G.O.A.T mode” (a total of seven) that will utilize a mix of graphics and colors to give each mode its own visual identity.  

A Deeper Look Into the Display
The screens are completely customizable, and as stated previously, there are 7 different screens. When in Normal Mode, the screen will turn blue, Ford’s normal brand color. In Rock Crawl Mode, a slow-moving Bronco traveling through rough terrain is animated on the screen. The Tow/Haul mode will show you a Bronco with a trailer while the colors shift to yellow. One screen that will be the favorite among enthusiasts, however, will be the Performance View. Ford Digital Manager Mark Sich had this to say about this screen,” Performance View changes a driver’s impression of how to use the vehicle, with an intuitive layout that puts redline at the 12 o’clock position and uses a drivetrain avatar to really get the focus on optimizing the performance of the drive. The entire focus is to provide the driver with important information as efficiently as possible.” The remaining modes are Slippery, Baja, Sport, and Off-Road. 

The Performance View screen will give drivers the opportunity to use it with any drive mode, and it depicts high-speed, off-road action in the vein of the Baja. It has the ability to recognize information such as engine RPM to more easily communicate such data to the driver. Each mode will still display important specs that the driver will need to pay attention to whenever on the road or even off-road. The off-road specs have slight differences, as they mostly display the information about those capabilities, yet still display some of the same things the other displays do like speed and mileage information.
