The Ford Edge has received a lot of praise over the past several months, especially from Consumer Reports, which named it one of the best SUVs, alongside the 2023 Ford Explorer, currently available for less than $40,000 msrp, one of the 10 best SUVs on sale today, one of the best mid-size SUVs on the market with standard safety systems available for under $35,000 msrp, and even went so far as to declare it a superior choice over the Chevy Blazer and the Honda Passport. According to IHS Markit, the Ford Edge was also the top-ranked vehicle in the United States when it came to brand loyalty back in May. Consumer Reports has once again recognized the 2022 Ford Edge, naming it among one of the best SUVs when it comes to rear seat comfort.

The latest piece written by Consumer Reports gives praise once again to the Ford Edge, stemming from their extensive testing process that evaluates each vehicle it tests in at least 50 different ways. It was through that extensive process that it was identified that rear-seat comfort is one of the top four most important factors that buyers look for when shopping for vehicles. It’s the factor that can make new vehicle buyers either really regret or love their purchase, along with visibility, cabin noise, and vehicle controls. This information is what Consumer Reports used in order to rank the compact and mid-size SUVs/crossovers.
The 2022 Ford Edge earned a perfect five out of five when it came to its rear-seat comfort, along with a four in ride quality, cabin noise, and front-seat comfort. A lot of the crossover’s high score in its rear-seat comfort is thanks to the ample amount of shoulder room, head room, and leg room for our taller friends. The 2022 Ford Edge also received an overall score of 80 from Consumer Reports, which ranked it near the top of its class with the aforementioned qualities to thank for that. It also received a road test score of 84 out of 100, as well as four out of five for acceleration, transmission performance, and handling; and finally a perfect five for its braking capabilities.
