An all-new Mustang is gearing up to debut this coming September 2022. As enthusiasts have only seen camouflage prototypes of its coupe and convertible models for the last several months, Ford officials have dropped a few hints about what to expect from the next-gen vehicle. Some of the hints that have been revealed are confirmations of a lot of the speculations people had, and it is thanks to that information, fans of Ford and Mustang have an idea of what is coming. Here’s what information is available as of now about the 2024 Ford Mustang, from mechanical components to styling cues.

Mustang enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the throaty and beloved 5.0-liter V8 engine should be on the 2024 Mustang, according to the early spy video that captured a V8 Mustang prototype while it was on the move. The turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine is also expected to be carried over from the current model. The only engine left to be confirmed at this time is whether or not the ‘24 Mustang will offer a plug-in hybrid with all-wheel drive. Either way, enthusiasts can expect the new Mustang to come mated with a six-speed manual transmission, in addition to the automatic one.

What to Expect with the 2024 Ford Mustang
As of now, the 2024 Mustang won’t be getting too many aesthetic changes to its exterior body in order to stick with its iconic design. Leaked images have shown a few minor changes like a slightly larger grille for the GT trim that mimics the current Mustang Shelby GT500, larger corner vents, thinner and cleaner headlights, and a slimmer C-pillar. Packages have not been fully confirmed yet, but the prototype that sports aggressive exhaust tips, upgraded brakes, and super sticky tires, could be the confirmation fans need for a GT Performance package. Special edition trims like the California Special may arrive eventually as well as the high-performance Shelby, though this one might be a bit further down the road. There isn’t much information about the interior of the Mustang right now, but interior spy photos suggest that the interior displays won’t be connected under one single screen like other brands are doing.

Pricing for the 2024 Mustang has not been released yet, but buyers can expect some price increases depending on the packages and trims. The covers on the Mustang will officially come off on September 14th, 2022 at a special event in downtown Detroit, at the Hart Plaza at 8:00 p.m. EDT. Two events will bring Mustang owners to the Motor City starting on September 6th with a cross-country drive called The Drive Home and will end at Ford World HQ in Dearborn on September 14th which will begin The Stampede (a huge Mustang cruise from Ford HQ to the debut location starting at 5:00 p.m.). Both events are open to the public with limited space for The Stampede, and registration is required, on a first-come-first-serve, and can be found on this link.
