Ford’s 2023 Bronco Sport is Fresh Competition for Off-Road Driving

The newly introduced 2023 Bronco Sport is the most recent resource in Ford’s arsenal of powerful compact SUVs. Primarily, this vehicle promises off-road capabilities, and it delivers with the Black Diamond Off-Road Package. This is one model that can tackle any terrain and look good doing it. The package can, specifically, be added to the Bronco Sport’s mid-level Big Bend and Outer Banks trims. In fact, there are six distinct trim levels to satisfy a plethora of buyers. It has steel wheels and bumpers that present a fresh look within an otherwise bright chrome trim jungle. Ground clearance abounds on this vehicle, and it has an advanced, on-demand 4×4 system with a rear locking differential, but it is the underside that truly allows for off-road adventures.
Underneath, Ford adds considerable protection to vital, vulnerable areas. For example, ticking off the boxes on the Black Diamond order sheet means adding four underbody skid plates that protect the gas tank and other equipment, including a set of 17-inch wheels from the Badlands book covered in all-terrain tires. For a cool price tag of $1,295 MSRP (Plus destination fee), the Black Diamond package, aside from safeguarding the Bronco Sport’s vital equipment, also arrives with an abundance of new graphics, which include matte black trim on the hood and down low on the doors. As a matter of fact, upon closer inspection, the Bronco horse logos and Bronco lettering are visible as well. Black Diamond hood and door decals complete the overall look.
No Muss, No Fuss Off-Road-Ready Interior
The seats are made of marine-grade vinyl, complete with heating. Needless to say, it is a robust interior design that is specifically crafted to take some hard knocks. The floor is clearly based on practicality and function, having no carpets to speak of, just rubber flooring and mats. However, this compact SUV does have drain plugs, so the consumer can conveniently and easily clean the inside after a raucous trip in the mud. The vinyl and rubber eventually lead toward leather aspects of the Ford Bronco Sport, such as the steering wheel and shifter knob. It also comes geared with an 8-inch touch screen with a highly enhanced Sync4 system and even a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot. The hard top has various panels, all of which can be removed for driving in the open air. In fact, the whole top can be taken off with the included tools, or even do away with the doors, if so desired.
Off-Roadeo
There is more for 2023 Bronco Sport owners to experience with the new Black Diamond Off-Road Package. Ford is being ingenious by utilizing the package to emphasize new and increased access to the Off-Roadeo program, permitting owners of the vehicle to participate in an instructional program that expressly focuses on off-road driving using Ford’s trucks. The endeavor has proven to be successful and enlightening thus far. According to Ford Vehicle Marketing Manager Mark Grueber, “Today, nearly 90 percent of Bronco Sport customers that attend Off-Roadeo are likely to go off-roading again, and 97 percent of customers are more knowledgeable and confident doing so, furthering our goal of getting into the wild.”
