Open Order Banks Bring Unexpected Change for the 2024 Ford Bronco

Since the sixth-generation Ford Bronco debuted for the 2021 model year, it has been one of the brand’s most popular and best-selling vehicles. As of August 16th, 2023, the build and price configurator for the 2024 Ford Bronco is officially live. Interestingly, the Ford Bronco has mustered the strength to surpass the competition relatively unchanged, except for the addition of exterior paint colors, new iterations, and other features.
Changes to the Bronco Lineup
At this point, however, the most noticeable alteration to the lineup is the discontinuation of its original Base trim. Ford terminated the Bronco SUV’s entry-level trim to shorten manufacturing time and better align it with customer needs. The most inexpensive Bronco a buyer can now purchase is the Big Bend.
Of note, the two-door Outer Banks option is no longer listed in the configurator, either. Moving forward, the trim will only be available as a four-door selection. Aside from these modifications, there are a few other upgrades in store for this automobile. For example, the Everglades will not share the same fate as the Base trim, as it will make a reappearance for the 2024 model year, albeit in limited quantities. Similarly, the Badlands will also be returning, even though the trim will face constrained availability, according to the build and price tool.
New Heavy-Duty Equipment
Regarding all-new accessories for the SUV, the Badlands and Wildtrak trims are subject to standard and more robust steering gear. Details about what will be changed about the steering gear remain vague. Nonetheless, one can presume this is simply the steering gear that the Wildtrak borrowed from the Bronco Raptor and is standard on the Wildtrak as part of Ford’s High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension 3.0 (HOSS). In addition, the Heavy-Duty Modular Bumper is once again standard on the Badlands trim, as it was in 2021. It is now also standard on the Wildtrak trim.
The engine options for the Big Bend have been reduced as well. As a matter of fact, the only available choice for the 2024 model year is the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Moreover, the ten-speed automatic transmission option for the Badlands trim has been deleted from the build and price configurator. Presumably, the seven-speed manual transmission will still be available, but consumers will find out in due time.
Design Changes
One memorable enhancement to the automobile’s interior is the elimination of the 8.0-inch infotainment display in lesser trims in favor of a larger, standard 12.0-inch system with Sync 4 across the entire lineup. The infotainment screen is not the only element to undergo an update. The color palette for the Bronco lineup has experienced an expansion. For example, Yellowstone will now be available on the Heritage Limited trim, while the Bronco Raptor will have access to Shelter Green and a brilliant Velocity Blue. That said, a new Raptor-exclusive appearance package is accessible as a late availability option. It includes a Code Orange pack with color-matched fenders for the all-new exterior aesthetic of the SUV.
