The Ford F-150 Lightning Expands its Horizons, Goes Global

For the first time, the Ford F-150 Lightning is being provided to consumers outside of the United States and Canada as sales officially begin in Norway. If there is one thing Norway is ecstatic about, it is electric vehicles. After all, the decision was announced after Ford representatives in the country reported consumers literally begging to purchase the all-electric pickup truck.
According to Per Gunnar Berg, managing director, Ford Norway, the demand is so great that people have even gone so far as to approach his private residence to question him about the availability of the vehicle: “In my 25 years at Ford, I’ve never seen anything like the passion and demand I’m seeing from drivers right now to get behind the wheel of our F-150 Lightning. I’ve had customers literally banging on my door and pleading for us to bring the electric pickup to Norway. F-150 Lightning is the perfect match for many customers in Norway – uniquely capable of quenching our thirst for adventure while embracing our passion for protecting the environment.”
Limited Number of Ford’s F-150 Lightning Pickups
Nevertheless, interested customers in Norway may need to strive for patience as the number of Ford F-150 Lightning pickups available for sale is strictly limited, and initial deliveries are not expected until the 2024 model year. Additionally, the pickup truck will only be provided in the Lariat Launch Edition trim, showcasing a Super Crew Cab body style, and offered exclusively in a hue dubbed Antimatter Blue. All of the trucks will be manufactured at Ford’s Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan. By the time it makes its arrival in Norway, the automobile will have a price tag of roughly $113,000 MSRP (Plus destination fee), Berg explained to the Detroit Free Press.

Palmer’s enthusiastic recommendation may become a reality very swiftly as soon as the F-150 Lightning makes its international appearance. As opposed to the rest of Europe, most of Norway is made up of wide roads and open spaces, where the F-150 Lightning would easily fit.
