Top Features of the Ford F-150 SuperCrew

Four real, front-hinged doors and a back seat where full-grown adults won’t mind spending a three-hour drive: that’s the core pitch for the Ford F-150 SuperCrew, and for many truck buyers, it’s the entire conversation. If your vehicle needs to carry a crew to a dusty job site on Monday morning and two child seats to soccer practice on Saturday afternoon, this is the cab setup you look at first.
A widespread assumption among shoppers is that picking the SuperCrew means driving a significantly longer, harder-to-park truck than the SuperCab. In reality, when equipped with the standard 5.5-foot box, the SuperCrew rests on the exact same 145.4-inch wheelbase and measures the same 232.0-inch overall length as a SuperCab paired with a 6.5-foot box. You’re simply reallocating length from the bed into the cab, keeping the footprint identical.
Four Doors and Everyday Convenience
The practical difference between cab styles becomes instantly clear in a tight parking spot. The SuperCab uses smaller, rear-hinged doors that force you to open the front door first. That clamshell setup quickly becomes frustrating when you’re buckling a toddler in the pouring rain or trying to shove a heavy tool bag behind the driver’s seat.
The SuperCrew eliminates that hassle with four independent, full-size doors hinged at the front. You just open the door, load your gear or passengers, and get moving.
Measuring the Rear-Seat Advantage
Almost every extra inch of cab length goes directly into second-row legroom, which is why passengers notice the difference immediately:
- Rear Legroom: The SuperCab offers 33.5 inches, while the SuperCrew jumps to 43.6 inches, a massive 10.1-inch advantage.
- Rear Headroom: SuperCab measures 40.3 inches, compared to 40.4 inches in the SuperCrew.
- Cab Exterior Length: From the front bumper to the back of the cab, the SuperCab spans 143.8 inches versus 155.6 inches for the SuperCrew.
Up front, space is identical across both configurations: 40.8 inches of headroom and 43.9 inches of legroom. The cabin seats five or six depending on whether you pick front bucket seats with a console or a front bench.
Bed Options, Power, and Capability
The standard SuperCrew 5.5-foot bed provides 52.8 cubic feet of cargo space. If your work demands more bed capacity, you can order the SuperCrew with a 6.5-foot box, expanding volume to 62.3 cubic feet while maintaining 50.6 inches between the wheelhouses. With the 5.5-foot bed, turning diameter remains a tight 47.8 feet, matching the SuperCab.
Under the hood, a new 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 replaces the previous 2.7-liter engine, serving as the base powertrain. Producing 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet, its peak torque arrives early at 2,250 revolutions per minute (RPM) to provide immediate pull when highway merging or towing.
Additional engine choices include the 5.0-liter V-8 (400 horsepower / 410 pound-feet), 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 (400 horsepower / 500 pound-feet), 3.5-liter PowerBoost Full Hybrid (430 horsepower / 570 pound-feet), and the high-output Raptor variants peaking at 720 horsepower. Backed by a standard 10-speed automatic transmission, maximum towing reaches 13,500 pounds when equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost, 4×4, Max Tow/Haul Package, and Max Tow Axle.
Cabin Comforts and Work-Ready Tech
Inside, practical details turn the cab into a mobile office. The gear shifter folds flat at the push of a button, letting the available Interior Work Surface unfold into a desk broad enough for a laptop, invoice stacks, or lunch. Available Max Recline Seats lie back nearly flat for rest breaks, while under-seat lockable storage spans the second row to keep valuable gear hidden.
Driver-assist technology like BlueCruise with Towing adds hands-free highway driving while towing on compatible roads. A new Carhartt edition also joins the lineup, offered exclusively in the SuperCrew configuration.
Before deciding on a cab style, drop by and sit in the second row first. Bring the family or crew along to see how the space works in person. Browse our current inventory, await our upcoming inventory, or schedule a test drive.
